Call Me Cuckoo But Don't Call Me Traditional

This Cuckoo Clock from Deeply Madly Living is nothing like the Cuckoo Clocks of the past. It is simple yet decorative without being overly ornate. Not to mention that depening on lighting it will cast an interesting shadow upon the wall due to it's silhoutte. How fun and how modern.

Not Your Grandma's Christmas Ornament

The following ornaments from West Elm are definitely not your Grandmothers style of ornament. These ornaments are modern and dare I say it "Sexy"; a stretch from the traditional. If you are looking for something different for your tree consider these: Sleek and smooth. Meow.

How Dreamy

Rachel Ashwell of Shabby Chic has taken on a wonderful task of restoring vintage prom dresses from the 40's and 50's. These beauties look so delicious. Many of them are a pastel dream. The sheer simplicity and pure beauty of these dresses are a must see. Maybe they will help you remember simple times and dreamy thoughts. Enjoy!

I Have Seen The Light

If you are like me you have probably wondered how you can have beautiful design details in your home without having to hire someone to install it. I have done a few do it yourself projects; even going as far as to installing a new light fixture but if I can avoid difficult projects I will. Hey I got to be honest; so for people like me there are companies that produce products like Exciting Lighting . Their wonderful sconces require no electrical installation. The sconces are battery operated so you just hang them on the wall like a picture and move onto your next project. No more hitting breaker switches, emitting words that you would not say in front of your mother and risking a hair raising experience. Eureka!

It's Just Tea

As a lover of entertaining I am always looking for opportunities to get my friends together; but rarely do I spend time with just the girls. Then I figured it out, why not throw and afternoon tea party. A tea party is a more intimate type of gathering usually best for a few friends. It is your time to catch up and enjoy the warm feeling of great tea and being together. Tea time is no longer stuffy if your doing it; so give it a try. Teavana has fabulous tea such as Snow Geisha ; just the smell of the tea unbrewed can lift ones spirits. Check out a few fabulous finds from Teavana and Distinctive-Decor that may inspire you to plan your tea party.
